Our founder’s (Richard Harrison) father, Hugh D Harrison, left the NCB in 1965 and founded Rock Engineering Group. Over the next 2 decades, the company expanded dramatically, specialising in the drilling of boreholes for precision blasting and ground stabilisation (grouting).

The company employed hundreds of people, working worldwide, and eventually branched into Water Well Drilling in the late Seventies.

Richard Harrison was brought up working on drilling sites from an early age (it would not be allowed these days!) and officially joined the family business in 1991, subsequently founding Hydroserve in 2000. Hydroserve is still a family business, with Richard’s wife Sharon and step-son Liam among the staff.
