Borehole Prognosis Report

Hydroserve Ltd almost always advise clients (existing or prospective) to have a Borehole Prognosis Report carried out prior to proceeding with a Borehole Water Supply project.

A Borehole Prognosis Report is a ‘desk top survey’ analysis of all available Hydrogeological and Geological data.

These reports can give not only a very good indication of the likelihood of success of drilling a Water Supply Borehole at a given location, they can also give important details such as the amount of surface casing that will be required, the approximate volume of water that is likely to be obtained and the likely quality of the water that will be encountered.

While the majority of the reports that we have commissioned in the past have given a ‘positive prognosis’ and have resulted in a Borehole water supply subsequently being successfully installed, we have heard of cases where people have gone ahead with Boreholes without having a prognosis report commissioned only to find that there was no water, or not enough water for their requirements, and their drilling contractor has still had to charge them for the work carried out.

Borehole Prognosis Reports can give you the peace of mind you need prior to commencing work, or alternatively they can allow you to make an informed decision not to progress with a Borehole water supply installation.
