In 2023, Hydroserve were contacted by Kenny Waste Managment (KWM) Ltd. KWM have several sites in and around Greater Manchester where various types of waste are processed for disposal.
Drier and hotter summer months in recent years had increased their requirement for dust suppression and wheel-washing of their vehicles leaving site.
Hydroserve were tasked with quoting for Borehole Water Supply Systems that would help KWM control their dust, odour and hygiene challenges on 2 of their waste processing sites.
Firstly, Hydroserve commissioned Borehole Prognosis Reports for each of the relevant sites through our associate Hydrologists.
Once the reports had been received, Hydroserve were able to quote accurately for the Drilling phase of the works.
Our Quotations were accepted, and the next stage was application for a Coal Authority Report .
Once the relevant permits were received, Hydroserve mobilised Drilling machinery and personnel to the sites.
Boreholes were drilled to circa 75m below ground level using specialist Rotary Mud Drilling (a condition of the Coal Authority Permit was that Mud flush was used instead of Air flush).
Once the Drilling phase was complete, Hydroserve’s experienced Well Engineering team were mobilised to site to install a Submersible Well Pump.
The pump was successfully installed and pumping to the client’s water storage tanks began.
In a matter of weeks between moving our machinery onto site and commencing pumping of the Water Wells, Kenny Waste Managements Dust and Odour Suppression problems were a thing of the past.
It was a pleasure working with this growing Waste Managment Business and helping them solve their dust and odour control issues.
